Who is invited

TU:KUE members come from two roots. What brings them to the same table is intellectual depth and an unblemished reputation.

Membership requirements

We look at six criteria when we consider a candidate. None of them is enough on its own. Together they describe who you are and what you will bring to this table.

Proven scale

We look for sustained business success on an international scale. It is measured not only by revenue, but by the durability of what you have built, the jobs you have created and your standing in your industry.

Added value

You are expected to have created value for Türkiye through products, brands, technology or services. We favour those who create processed value rather than sell raw materials, and who export ideas, not only products.

Unblemished reputation

Your commercial and personal reputation must be beyond question. Candidates' backgrounds are reviewed in confidence, using public sources only.

Intellectual contribution

We keep company with people who read, think and bring ideas to the table. We look for members with an interest in culture, history, art and science who are willing to share what they know.

Invitation or nomination

Membership is considered only on the invitation of the Founding Council or the nomination of a member. Applications made on one's own behalf are not accepted.

The invitation process

Every invitation passes through five stages. Candidates are not told about the process until the invitation reaches them.

1. ObservationThe Founding Council and our members identify people who stand out in business and would add value to TU:KUE.
2. NominationA candidate is taken into consideration on a member's nomination or by decision of the Council.
3. ReviewThe candidate's business record and reputation are reviewed in confidence, using public sources.
4. InvitationOnce the Council approves, a founding member delivers the invitation personally.
5. WelcomeThe new member accepts the töre and joins their first Sofra.

What we expect of members

Membership is a responsibility, not a title. We expect every member who accepts the invitation to:

• Attend the Kurultay and take part in Sofra dinners.
• Share knowledge and experience, and give time to the next generation through Atabey.
• Leave what is said at the table at the table.
• Use the doors other members open with care, and open doors without expecting anything in return.
• Look after Türkiye's good name wherever they are.

Ending membership

Membership ends at the member's own request or because of conduct contrary to the töre. Allegations of such conduct are reviewed in confidence by the Founding Council. No decision is made without hearing the member, and the decision is communicated to the member personally.
